Definition:
In this position the patient lies supine with both knees flexed (pulled or stretched) on the bed. This position is performed to treat and examine the genitalia and during the delivery process.

Dorsal recumbent position:
Improves patient comfort, especially with back strain.

Indication:

  1. Patient with examination on the pelvic, vaginal and anus.
  2. Patients with back strain.
